Hi Dale,
I fitted new pads to my Savage about 1000 miles ago with no squeeks at all.
Have you got the anti-rattle spring fitted?
This 'spring' is not a coil spring - it's a piece of metal that fits between the top edge of the pad and the caliper. This is supposed to stop the pads moving in a manner that causes the squeeking.
I suggest you unbolt the caliper, remove the pads then remove the anti-rattle spring (if it's there). Then clean everything up and reassemble with a TINY bit of grease at the contact points. There is also a smaller piece of metal called a retainer in the clymer book between the front edge of the pads and the caliper. This too should be clean with a little bit of grease on.
I also put just a smear of grease on the metal parts of the pads where they contact the caliper.
This should stop the squeeks.
Happy Savage riding - even the squeeky ones.
